Perp stabs straphanger at Columbus Circle subway station: NYPD

Police are looking for a suspect who stabbed a man aboard a Manhattan D train on Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD. 

The 42-year-old victim told police that he was riding the southbound subway when the perp approached near the 59th Street–Columbus Circle station at around 5 a.m.

After a brief interaction, the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim in the shoulder, before hopping onto the platform and boarding a northbound 2 train. 

The victim, who sustained significant injuries, took himself to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull hospital for treatment, authorities said. 

No arrests have yet been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. 

The suspect is described as a male with a medium skin complexion and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a brown leather jacket with a green hooded sweatshirt underneath, light colored pants, and black sneakers.
