NYPD detectives say they have obtained new footage of a killer involved in a 13-year-old Brooklyn cold case they hope will lead to his capture.
According to police sources, images of the sought-after murderer were previously released, yet this is the first time cops say the video has been disseminated to the public, which shows an individual dressed in green strolling down the sidewalk.
Law enforcement sources say they believe this man approached 22-year-old Jamal Singleton from behind in front of a home on 977 Greene Avenue at around 9:43 p.m. on Sept. 19 2011 after being seen walking back and forth in the area. The assailant opened fire on Singleton, with one bullet striking him in the back and exiting through his chest.
EMS rushed the victim to Woodhull Hospital where he could not be saved and was pronounced dead.
Police say that well over a decade later they are still hunting for his killer and asking anyone with any information surrounding his slaying to come forward. The gunman was last seen dressed all in green wearing either a sweatshirt and pants or what appears to be a medical outfit.
