Police released a photo of the suspect accused of pushing a woman onto the tracks of a Manhattan subway station on Tuesday and are asking the public for help in tracking down the man.
The horrifying incident occurred at around 11 p.m. inside the Chambers Street station in Tribeca, when the suspect shoved a 34-year-old female onto the southbound tracks of the 1 train, before running off, according to cops.
Straphangers who witnessed the crime sprang into action and helped pull the woman back onto the platform before the next train arrived.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and took the woman to New York Presbyterian-Lower Manhattan Hospital for treatment of a fractured leg.
The suspect was last seen wearing a red short-sleeve shirt and black pants.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
