Two people were critically injured, and four others were wounded, in an early-morning crash in Brooklyn on Sunday involving a speeding sedan and an MTA bus, police reported.
The incident happened at about 3:28 a.m. on Jan. 31 at the corner of Rockaway Avenue and Linden Boulevard in Brownsville.
According to police, a Kia sedan, operated by a 25-year-old woman with two men riding along in passenger seats, blew a red light while traveling at a high rate of speed westbound along Linden Boulevard.
The vehicle then slammed into a B60 bus traveling southbound along Rockaway Avenue. Just two people were riding the bus with the driver at the time of the crash.
Officers from the 73rd Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. First responders removed the injured driver and her two passengers from the Kia sedan.
Paramedics rushed them to nearby Brookdale University Hospital. The driver and a 20-year-old man riding in the rear passenger seat were listed in critical condition, police reported. The other male passenger is expected to survive.
Meanwhile, law enforcement sources said, the bus driver and two B60 passengers suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.
The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad is looking into the crash, police reported.
