Cops are looking for a subway sicko who allegedly had sex with a dead straphanger aboard a subway train in Lower Manhattan.
Police said the disturbing case of necrophilia, which they described as sexual misconduct, occurred around 12:20 a.m. on April 9 on board a southbound R train near the Whitehall Street station, within the jurisdiction of the 1st Precinct and Transit District 2.
According to the NYPD, the yet-to-be-identified individual had sexual contact with an “unconscious and unresponsive” adult male before fleeing the train on foot in an unknown direction.
Police sources indicated that the deceased victim may be homeless and died prior to the sexual assault, likely due to natural causes.
As of Thursday afternoon, the victim remains unidentified, with sources noting he did not have any personal identification.
It is also unclear if the suspect was aware that the victim was deceased at the time, but sources familiar with the case said the perverted perp penetrated the body in multiple orifices.
The NYPD is now asking for the public’s help in identifying the perpetrator wanted in connection with the sexual misconduct incident. The alleged suspect is described as a man with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, a black hooded jacket over a yellow hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, red and white sneakers, and carrying a black backpack.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
