A deadly Harlem shooting on Saturday morning left a thirty-something man dead, police reported.

Law enforcement sources said the homicide happened at about 3:10 a.m. on Oct. 22 within the Jackie Robinson Houses public housing complex, outside the rear of 111 East 128th St.

Officers from the 25th Precinct and NYPD PSA 5, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found the victim, a 31-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive with a bullet wound to his chest.

Witnesses told police that the victim had been involved in a dispute with an unidentified suspect moments before he was shot.

EMS rushed the victim to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.

Police are looking for the suspect, who law enforcement sources described as a man with a dark complexion standing about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and wearing all-black clothing. He was last seen fleeing on foot southbound along Lexington Avenue.
