Three suspects remain at large after allegedly pistol-whipping and robbing a 24-year-old man inside a Washington Heights store earlier this year, according to police.
The incident occurred around 10:10 p.m. Sunday, March 11, inside a store at 1275 St. Nicholas Ave. in Manhattan’s 33rd Precinct.
The three unidentified individuals reportedly followed the victim into the store and demanded money before one of them displayed a firearm. That suspect then struck the victim multiple times with the weapon, police said.
According to investigators, two of the suspects left the store and attempted to steal the victim’s Jeep Cherokee, which was parked outside. While they were unable to drive off with the vehicle, they did take cash from inside.
All three suspects then fled the scene in a Ford Explorer, taking the victim’s cellphone and wallet, police said. The victim was not hospitalized.
On May 26, the NYPD released surveillance footage and asked for the public’s help identifying the suspects.
