Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly gave a 73-year-old woman a brutal beating during a random attack in Lower Manhattan last week.
According to law enforcement sources, the victim was walking in front of a row of stores near 76 Fulton St. on Oct. 13 at around 8:35 p.m. when the suspect, a female, approached her.
Without saying a word, police said, the brute initiated the unprovoked attack by repeatedly punching the woman square in the face, following up with a hard body slam to the ground.
Not yet done, the perp then kicked the woman multiple times throughout her body, authorities said.
The suspect then immediately fled the location on foot, northbound on Gold Street, before officers from the 1st Precinct arrived in response to a 911 call about the brutal beat down.
EMS also arrived on scene. The victim suffered substantial pain, but was not hospitalized.
Police on Oct. 25 released a surveillance photo and video of the suspect, who remains at large. She is described as having a slim build and dark complexion, and was last seen wearing a white cardigan sweater, black leggings and gray sneakers while carrying a white purse.
No arrests have been made, but the investigation remains ongoing.
