Bronx detectives need the public’s help in finding the madman who raped a woman over the weekend.
The NYPD released on Wednesday morning images and video of the perpetrator behind the sexual assault that occurred at about 1 a.m. on Oct. 13 near the corner of Webster Avenue and East Mosholu Parkway South in Williamsbridge. The location of the attack is a block south of the 52nd Precinct‘s headquarters and a short distance from the New York Botanical Garden.
Law enforcement sources said the perverted perpetrator approached the victim, a 25-year-old woman, as she walked through the area and threatened her, claiming that he had a weapon. Police sources said the suspect did not display any weapons during the incident.
Seconds later, cops said, the suspect — who was not known to the victim — sexually assaulted her. Following the heinous attack, he fled on foot southbound along Webster Avenue.
EMS rushed the woman to Jacobi Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Through Oct. 13, according to the most recent CompStat report, the 52nd Precinct registered 32 rapes year-to-date, five more than the 27 reported at the same point in 2023. However, the NYPD regularly cautions that rape is the most underreported crime in the city.
Police described the suspect in the Oct. 13 incident as a man with a slim build and a dark complexion, who was last pictured wearing all-black clothing.
