Another affordable housing lottery has opened in Manhattan, this time on the Upper East Side, with a limited amount of units available on the lower end of pricing.
Located at 300 East 83rd St., the new units are said to be affordable to households earning between 70 and 130 percent of the area median income.
Of the 28 units, 7 are studios ranging in price from $1,655 to $3,139 a month; 7 1-bedrooms ranging from $1,667 to $3,358 a month; and 14 2-bedrooms ranging from $1,991 to $4,020 a month. Rent includes gas for cooking, heat and hot water. The units are pet friendly, though some breed restrictions are in place.
According to a recent report from StreetEasy, median rents around the city are on the rise, with the average being $3,800 in June.
The units include dishwashers in-unit, high-end kitchen appliances and finishes, washer and dryer in some units (shared laundry available on site), air conditioning and smart controls for heating/cooling. Building amenities include access to the rooftop terrace, recreation rooms, a fitness center, outdoor areas, security cameras, elevator access, bike storage, and a recycling center.
The lottery ends on Sept. 30, 2024. To apply visit the listing on New York City’s Housing Connect website.
