A proposed 1,066 foot tower in Downtown Brooklyn took one step closer to reality on Tuesday, after the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission approved plans that would alter the landmarked Dime Savings Bank.
JDS Development Group and Chetrit Group needed the appoval to proceed as planned in the construction of the 73-story residential structure at 9 Dekalb Ave.
A spokeswoman for the LPC reiterated that the agency doesn’t have the authority to approve the entire project.
Construction is slated to begin this year.
