This weekend, Queens Theatre kicks off its first-ever Forward Festival of the Arts, putting the spotlight on the work of Deaf/Disabled performers and playwrights. Artists from across the country will join the local nonprofit for nine days of performances, including live dance by Full Radius Dance.
Founded in 1998, Full Radius Dance redefines the boundaries of dance, bringing together Disabled and non-Disabled performers. The company will perform “Alice, Peter, and Dorothy,” which examines Alice in Wonderland, Peter and Wendy, and The Wizard of Oz through a disability-centric lens and “Undercurrents,” in which dancers flow on and off the stage in currents of movement, pulling the dance in unexpected directions.
Tickets: $20 with the discount code FFA5. The festival will include ASL Interpretation, Audio Description, Open Captioning, and other accessibility services. For details about the entire festival visit https://queenstheatre.org/forward-festival or email questions to Access@QueensTheatre.org.
