There won’t be any changes coming anytime soon to the Nets front office, according to a new report from the New York Post.
Sean Marks is expected to return as general manager next season despite being at the helm of the departure of three of the biggest names in the NBA over the last two seasons, according to the report. Marks has held the GM job for seven years and will now direct the second rebuild under his watch.

And there had been some thought that after the dismantling of one of the best teams on paper, which never reached its full potential for various reasons, that Marks could find himself on the chopping block. However, “ownership has full confidence in that front office to build for the future,” the Post reported a source saying.
The Nets have won three straight games after and appeared that ownership seemed confident that the team was headed in the right direction. Marks seemed comfortable in his position back in February when he spoke with reporters following the trade of Kevin Durant.
When asked by amNewYork if he felt he needed to rebuild trust with the fans, he said that it was something that he never took for granted.
“I’ve talked to hundreds of fans here on a game-by-game basis and I don’t take that for granted,” Marks said at the time. “We’ve got an incredible opportunity here to do something with his borough and that hasn’t left me from the minute I wanted to come here. And be a part of something and build something. Nothing has changed. I think we certainly owe it to these fans. I think that’s the way we approach this.”
The Nets have made strides to win back the fans’ trust with Mikal Bridges finding his feet under him in his new role with the Nets. Brooklyn also extended head coach Jacque Vaughn to a multi-year deal, which signaled ownership’s confidence in Marks to make that decision.
