2024 NFL odds: Jets’ Aaron Rodgers favored to win NFL Comeback Player of the Year

The chances of Aaron Rodgers playing more than four snaps this season with the New York Jets are high; therefore, the bookmakers expect big things from him in 2024. 

The 40-year-old future Hall-of-Famer has been tabbed as the favorite to win the 2024 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award, given annually to a player who overcomes adversity in the form of a severe injury or down year to excel the following season.

Rodgers, a 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time NFL MVP, did not appear in a single preseason game during the summer but torched the Giants in a joint practice two weeks ago when he completed 15 of 21 passes with four touchdowns. 

Not only has he put in extra work this offseason — taking roughly 300 more reps than he did last summer — but general manager Joe Douglas has surrounded him with a far more reliable offense. 

No. 1 receiver Garrett Wilson now has a legitimate sidekick in veteran Mike Williams. Breece Hall is projected to post his first 1,000-yard rushing season, and the offensive line has significantly improved following acquisitions like Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses. 

As long as he can stay healthy, there is little disputing that Rodgers will once again be amongst the game’s very best quarterbacks in 2024, while the Jets hope he can steer them to a first playoff berth in 14 years.
