Colorado quarterback and projected top-3 pick at the 2025 NFL Draft, Shedeur Sanders, already has his first two top-30 visits scheduled — and the New York Giants are one of them.
Sanders told a member of the Colorado athletic department via his brother’s YouTube channel that he will first meet with the Cleveland Browns when the top-30 visits begin on March 4. Then, he will sit down with the Giants. The Browns have the No. 2 pick in the draft, while the Giants are at No. 3.
Top-30 visits allow each NFL team to bring 30 prospects into their facilities, but only after the conclusion of the NFL Combine, which begins on Feb. 27.
Sanders, along with Miami product Cam Ward, is considered the top quarterback prospect of the draft class this year, and each of the top three teams on the board could use a quarterback.
The Tennessee Titans, with their No. 1 pick, will likely move on from Will Levis. At No. 2, the Browns could try to move on from Deshaun Watson’s albatross of a contract. But if the franchise believes that he is still their man under center, they could pivot to Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter — a dominant talent that could cushion the blow of potentially losing Myles Garrett after the All-Pro requested a trade.
Such a route would open the door for the Giants to get one of Ward or Sanders, allowing general manager Joe Schoen to insert a possible franchise cornerstone to build around in a make-or-break year for his job security.
The Giants have been doing their due diligence, especially when it comes to Sanders. They already interviewed Sanders earlier this month at the East-West Shrine Bowl in Texas.
“It’s a little bit cliche, but he checks all the boxes of [player with a] dad that is a football coach and the passion that he approaches the game with,” Schoen said of Sanders. “It was good getting to meet him. He’s had a really good career at Colorado and obviously, looking forward to getting to knowing all those guys in the rest of the process.”

The Giants are in desperate need of a quarterback if only to provide the franchise with some semblance of direction. The Daniel Jones experiment failed, and his four-year, $160 million contract played a direct role in star running back Saquon Barkley walking in free agency to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he rushed for 2,000 yards and won a Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, the Giants went 3-14 and finished the season with a quarterback carousel of Tommy DeVito, Drew Lock, and Tim Boyle.
Sanders has shown that he is a polished passer, completing at a 74% rate last season for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
“What you’re getting is a complete package,” Sanders said. “You’re getting everything you could ask for. Able to handle the media, able to handle the scrutiny that the NFL comes with. Having a leader that knows. I’ve been in a lot of situations — good, bad, and ugly — and I’ve been the same through it all. Nothing really fazes me. You can tell I play like that.”
