Consider the American League MVP conversation wrapped up as New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge’s monster year is on the precipice of a second win in three years.
Even after a recent 16-game homer-less streak put him off the pace of 60 round-trippers — or his AL record 62 hit in 2022 — Judge continues to rewrite what it means to be a slugger during this generation.
In his first 148 games, he was batting a career-high .321 with a league-leading.455 on-base percentage, .692 slugging percentage, and a 1.147 OPS with 53 home runs and 132 RBI.
It is such an impressive showing that it makes Bobby Witt Jr.’s historic season with the Kansas City Royals almost an afterthought— which seems unfair given jus how great of a season he is having.
Witt leads the American League with a .332 batting average to go with 32 home runs, 108 RBI, and 29 stolen bases. He is on the verge of becoming the first-ever shortstop to post a second-consecutive 30/30 season.
2024 American League MVP odds
- Aaron Judge (NYY) -5000
- Bobby Witt Jr. (KC) +1200
- Juan Soto (NYY) +6600
- Gunnar Henderson (BAL) +10000
- Jose Ramirez (CLE) +15000
- Rafael Devers (BOS) +20000

In the National League, Los Angeles Dodgers DH Shohei Ohtani is on the verge of becoming the first 50/50 player in MLB history. The dual-threat who has been halved this season as an injury prevented him to pitch leads the National League with 47 home runs with 108 RBI and 48 stolen bases.
While has been the long-time favorite to win the MVP this season in his first season with the Dodgers, Francisco Lindor has mounted quite a case for himself in Queens.
The Mets’ star shortstop has been one of MLB’s best since mid-May, canceling out a horrendous start to 2024 while sparking his team toward postseason contention.
What strengthens his case is that he is one of the best defenders at a premier position — an entire facet of the game Ohtani has not participated in this season.
However, the advantage for the Dodger is more than healthy, which could only grow with Lindor dealing with a back injury.
2024 National League MVP odds
- Shohei Ohtani (LAD) -3000
- Francisco Lindor (NYM) +1000
- Bryce Harper (PHI) +10000
- Marcell Ozuna (ATL) +10000
- Ketel Marte (ARI) +15000
