The Baltimore Ravens can take solace in knowing they have a “get right” game ahead of them in Week 15 as they visit the inept New York Giants on Sunday afternoon (1 p.m. ET, FOX).
The Giants are in the midst of an intra-MetLife Stadium battle with the Jets to see who can be the most embarrassing team in the NFL this season, and they have made quite a strong case.
Big Blue has lost eight straight games, slipping to 2-11 on the season. It is tied for the league’s worst record with the Las Vegas Raiders, who currently possess the No. 1 pick of the 2025 NFL Draft solely based on their weaker strength of schedule.
Daniel Jones’ departure has done little to spark New York’s stuck-in-the-mud offense, which will have Tommy DeVito back as the starter with Drew Lock suffering a heel injury that has put him in a walking boot. The Giants have averaged less than 13 points in their last three games, which featured a non-competitive showing from DeVito in Week 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before picking up a forearm injury. Lock started the previous two games.
It has left an inconsistent defense out to dry all season, though they put together a strong showing in Week 14 by keeping the lowly New Orleans Saints to just 14 points. The problem is that the Giants only scored 11.
New York’s passing defense is one of the best units in the NFL, ranking fifth in touchdowns allowed and sixth in yards against. Their rushing defense, though, is one of the worst, ranking 29th in yards allowed. Week 14 was the first time in eight games that the Giants held their opponents to under 100 yards rushing.
Consider Sunday afternoon to be a nightmare scenario for this defense, then. The Ravens have the third-best scoring offense in the league and the No. 1 unit in total yards gained behind the star-studded duo of quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry.
Jackson has already passed for 3,290 yards with 29 touchdowns and three interceptions while gaining an additional 678 yards on the ground this season, which should garner serious MVP consideration again.
Henry is among the very best running backs in all of football, already posting 1,407 yards in just 13 games to go with a league-leading 13 rushing touchdowns.
New York’s defense will look even more different on Sunday after placing cornerback Tre Hawkins on IR. They signed Divaad Wilson off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad. Meanwhile, linebacker Bobby Okereke, cornerback Deonte Banks, safety Dru Phillips, defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches, and safety Tyler Nubin were all listed as questionable on the team’s injury report.
