The Sack Exchange is coming back to the Meadowlands as the New York Jets unveiled their new primary uniforms and logo for the 2024 season on Monday.
“We work for the fans,” team owner Woody Johnson said. “They have consistently asked for us to return to our roots and we heard them. The new uniforms are explicitly designed to look and feel like the New York Jets while refreshing the club’s iconic logo — viewed by fans as our most identifiable mark.”
The rebrand harkens back to the uniforms worn by Gang Green from 1978-1989, featuring kelly green and white colors. The helmets are solid green with white facemasks and an italicized, white wordmark features the silhouette of a jet plane.
In total, the new-look Jets will have three uniform versions: One in that kelly green with white letters and numbers, a white version with green lettering, and a black uniform with black helmets, white lettering, and green accents.
“Recreating our uniforms, as well as developing a modernized look for the organization signifies our commitment to progress, remaining innovative, and delivering excellence to our players and fans,” team president Hymie Elhai said. “Elevating the New York Jets’ identity with a refreshed uniform embodies a timeless look while empowering every player and generations of fans to stand out and stay true to the team’s heritage.”
