The New York Jets know they have several holes along the offensive line. It took until the second day of free agency to secure one of those spots.
New York announced they have agreed to a deal with former Commanders offensive lineman Wes Schweitzer. Schweitzer is currently listed as a center on the team’s website.
The former San Jose product started 6 games for the Washington Commanders last season and appeared in 7 games. He played right guard (71 snaps) and center (348 snaps) during the 2022-23 season. Schweitzer has plenty of positional versatility having played every position along the offensive line since being a sixth-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 2016.
Schweitzer, 29, is currently the lone center on the Jets’ depth chart.
Contract details have also not been made at this time.
