University of Colorado star quarterback Shedeur Sanders will not throw during the 2025 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, which began on Monday.

Quarterback prospects are expected to arrive on Tuesday and Sanders will be among those in attendance. While he will not throw and his participation in the medical exams are unknown, he will meet with teams while he is there. He will throw during Colorado’s Pro Day, which will come at some point next month.

The Giants, who hold the No. 3 pick in April’s NFL Draft, will be one of the first teams he would meet with Sanders at the Combine only after he speaks with the Cleveland Browns, who hold the No. 2 pick.

Big Blue has already had unofficial talks with Sanders during the East-West Shrine Bowl last month.

“It’s a little bit cliche, but he checks all the boxes of [player with a] dad that is a football coach and the passion that he approaches the game with,” Giatns GM Schoen said of Sanders. “It was good getting to meet him. He’s had a really good career at Colorado and obviously, looking forward to getting to knowing all those guys in the rest of the process.”

Sanders is projected as one of the top two passing talents of the Class of 2025 alongside Miami’s Cam Ward, who has been tabbed by many to go No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans.

Last season at Colorado, Sanders led the nation with a 74% completion rate. He also led the Big 12 with 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdowns.

Landing him provides a glimmer of hope for the Giants, who are coming off the bungled decision of paying Daniel Jones, only to cut him less than two years into his four-year, $160 million deal — a contract that ultimately led to star running back Saquon Barkley heading to Philadelphia in free agency to win a Super Bowl with the Eagles.

As New York limped to a 3-14 finish in 2024, they rotated uninspiring quarterbacks in Tommy DeVito, Drew Lock, and Tim Boyle, who did nothing to spark a lifeless offense.
