The battle of Texas between the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys on Monday night to wrap up the NFL’s Week 11 slate might not be as hotly contested as originally expected.

Dallas has been one of the largest disappointments in the NFL thus far, going 3-6 through their first nine games of a nightmare season. Quarterback Dak Prescott underwent surgery on his hamstring in New York, forcing the Cowboys to roll with Cooper Rush for the foreseeable future.

Week 10 could not have gone much worse as the Cowboys were destroyed by the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles 34-6. Rush was held to just 45 yards passing as Dallas lost its fourth straight game.

They are hosting a Texans team that has lost two straight games to the New York Jets and Detroit Lions to drop to 6-4 on the season — though their ceiling is significantly higher than that of the Cowboys.

CJ Stroud, one of the most promising young passers in the game, has passed for 2,371 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions this season, flanked by numerous weapons like Tank Dell and Nico Collins, along with running back Joe Mixon, that have a nose for the end zone. Mixon has seven rushing touchdowns this season, while Collins and Dell have combined for five.

The Texans have allowed the fourth-fewest passing yards in the NFL this season, which should be a miserable matchup for Rush and the Cowboys’ offense — one of the reasons why Houston is favored by a touchdown heading into Monday night.
