UConn favored to repeat as national champions as 2025 college basketball season begins

The 2024-25 college basketball season is underway, and UConn is still deemed as the favorite to repeat as national champions.

Another Final Four triumph would make it three straight national championships for the Huskies, which would make them the first men’s program since the UCLA powerhouse of the 1960s and 70s —  they won nine titles in 10 years from 1964-1973 — to win three consecutive crowns. 

But Kansas’ veteran-laden squad and Duke, which features the top freshman in the nation in Cooper Flagg, might have something to say about that.
