MetroCard vending machines at 100 stations were not accepting debit/credit cards Monday morning, according to the MTA.
According to MTA spokesperon Amanda Kwan, the outage was not system-wide. There were no reports of chaos.
By 11 a.m., Verizon, which operates the machines, said the outage was down to 50 machines throughout the five boroughs.
The outage was resolved by 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
